The ability to envision objects in three dimensions is one of the most important skills for designers. Learning to visualize objects in space, to imagine constructively, is something you can learn by studying technical drawing.
If you’re stuck on something, even if you feel unimpressed by your drawing skills, try sketching your way out!
Sketching is also an efficient way to plan our drawings and record notes needed to create a complex object. When we sketch basic ideas ahead of time, we can often complete a final CAD drawing sooner and with fewer errors. Using good technique makes sketching faster, easier, and more legible.
This exercise was to explore our visualization ability. We had sketched our immediate space in perspective. The second exercise mainly concentrated on how we define depth only using lines but not by shading.
